Print has always been about generating business through a corporate structure, where webcomics is independent. Now the question is, what’s going to replace webcomics? Do [iPod-style] app comics replace webcomics, and does that mean a return to the corporate side from the independent side?

webcomic maker Brad Guigar (Evil Inc.) in conversation with Scott Kurtz (PvP) and John D. Roberts (Comixology) at NYCC last weekend as transcribed at Fleen.

I’d like to think that a Picklets app for iPhone will fall squarely to the independent side, putting authoring tools and a commercial distribution model in the hands of individual authors.

That’s my goal anyway.

Still not sure how it relates to webcomics. Need to wait and see what gets made.
